Mandela day. Our great father who did so much for our country. We decided to put down the mics for the day and serve our community by picking up the trash. With some visitors from town we pulled up our sleeves, put on our gloves and hit the streets. Circling around the park where we usually host our events we gathered people along the way. Singing along the way kids, adults, dogs, cats and rats followed… like the pied piper, along we marched.
It was productive in some ways, those streets were cleaner and we all had fun. Although we all realized the extent of the litter in our community. Hours of work and we hadn’t even touched the surface. This started a discussion- how are we going to keep Du Noon clean? We have been generating some ideas and doing our homework, so stay tuned to hear the progress.
